The Quagmire describes my mind -- full of random bits of things all stuck together -- these things may include, but are not limited to: music, TV, movies, writing, reading, theatre, politics, religion, whatever.

So what is this "Emo Boy" thing?

Emo Boys: this term has come up a lot lately online, and I never heard it until very recently. So, being the inquisitive type, I've read a bit online at Wikipedia and also at the Urban Dictionary. I have a definition, but knowing what word means technically doesn't mean you really know what it means.

Could someone actually explain it to me. I just don't get them. I mean, I see they dress similar to the Goth style, but not exactly. I even get they listen to Emo music. I understand some of them are into mild cutting which I find bizarre, but that's their choice not mine. But what's their attraction, if you understand my question. It's confusing. I just don't get it. Really.

Someone out there has got to be able to shed a little light on this. If you don't want to post it as a comment, an e-mail will do. Surely there's an Emo Boy reading this right now.

Well, I wouldn't call myself an emo boy, but if you're curious to find out more about emo, there are a few places you could go. There is a club called I/O near downtown Miami that generally hosts a few hundred emo kids: it's at 30 NE 14th Street. Other places: Purdy loung on Miami Beach (1811 Purdy Ave), PS 14, which is right next door to I/O (28 NE 14ST), or a place called SoHo lounge, which is not far from PS14 and I/O (175 N.E. 36th Street).

I think most emo kids are alright: at least, the older ones. I'm not sure about the highschool kids. A blundering observer would probably assume most emo kids are gay, although there are a lot of chicks that dig the emo thing, although that seems to me to fly in the face of evolutionary biology.

Um, two guys kissing. Why isn't that gay? (I don't know that I want to go observe them in person, I'm just curious about their existence.) But if two guys kiss passionately, any observer will assume that's gay because it is. There's nothing wrong with gay, but if I french kissed you (NO THANKS) why isn't that gay?

just because two guys are kissing doesnt mean they are gay or even bi, it just something they do. no gayness or biness involved.

Um, sorry, but the very definition of gay would be two guys French kissing. But that's not even my point. I mean WHY would two guys who are (supposedly) straight WANT to French kiss. For example, I have NEVER had the urge to French kiss Rob. What posesses someone to decide to do that.....
