DAR SYSTEMS INT'L SECRET DOWNLOADS

TRS-80 VERSIONS

This software was originally produced under a license from the Saul Zaentz Company. Ultimately, the short-term license was allowed to expire. At the time it was felt the marketability of these games was limited, and the costs of the license were prohibitively expensive. After our trial run of 100 copies per platform (TRS-80 and Apple II) sold out, we elected not to renew at the much higher rate and decided to make our own games.

Mines of Moria was made prior to the agreement and was not based on Tolkien's work but on a widely available BSD Unix game of the same name. It was tweaked to fall in the series but when the license elapsed, we removed the enhancements and expanded on our original version.

These games are posted here for historical purposes only. We do not feel they have any commercial value since they are not being sold, are for a computer platform that has not existed for nearly twenty years and as such no financial loss is being incurred by the Tolkien Estate. Should they notify us they feel otherwise the games will be removed without any argument on my part.

Do NOT link to this page. The second I find one link to this page, this page will be removed FOREVER.

These TRS-80 versions were created for TRSDOS 6.2 and never released. The programs were converted from our old tape versions before we ultimately had to stop marketing TRS-80 software. Ira Goldklang was kind enough to recover them from our old wonky floppies so you can use them. By downloading them, you agree to all terms and conditions posted on this web page and any future modifications thereof.
